The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program
![]()
The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is the nation’s leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults. People who qualify under specific insurance plans receive a basic fitness center membership at no cost. The program includes use of basic amenities and access to our signature SilverSneakers class.
The program is typically offered to Medicare-eligible members of a sponsoring health plan. Medicare-eligible members are adults age 65 or older, or, in some cases, those of any age deemed disabled and receiving Medicare.
Currently, the Wake Forest Healthclub offers the SilverSneakers Muscular Strength & Range of Movement class. It is designed to increase strength, range of movement, agility, balance, and coordination and to improve participants’ functional capacities, physical fitness level, and sense of well-being. This class is offered Monday & Wednesday mornings from 9:30–10:30 AM, and is open to all members of the Wake Forest Healthclub, not just those who qualify under the specific insurance plans.
